Designer canvas¶
The canvas is where you draw a process. Open it by double-clicking a process in Processes; while it loads, the screen shows the Lurana loading mark with LOADING… and no errors.
Top bar¶
From left to right the top bar shows the process name, then:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Undo | Reverts the last action; the tooltip reads Undo action |
| Redo | Reapplies the action you undid |
| Zoom | Zooms the diagram in and out |
| Export ▾ | Process, custom export, and BPMN diagram (see below) |
| Save ▾ | Save, autosave, and save as |
There is no fullscreen, close, or help button. The process name appears alone, without a prefix such as Process:.
Undo and redo¶
Undo works step by step: after you create a task and move it, the first undo returns it to its original position and the second removes the task. Redo replays both steps. Neither leaves a phantom figure on the canvas.
Figure dock¶
The figures sit in a floating dock at the bottom centre of the canvas.
- Hovering an icon enlarges it and pushes its neighbours aside, like a system dock.
- Leaving the dock returns the icons to their normal size.
- Drag a figure onto the canvas: it keeps its enlarged size while you drag and is created where you drop it, with the same appearance it has once placed.
- × collapses the dock to a button; selecting that button reopens it.
Collapsing or reopening the dock never moves or resizes the diagram.
Process objects panel¶
The panel on the right lists the objects of the process: variables, dynaforms, input and output documents, triggers, database connections, templates, and so on. Each row is an icon, a label, and a +.
- × closes the panel and the canvas keeps its size.
- A vertical Objects chip on the right edge reopens it.
Report tables are not offered in this panel.
Task colours¶
- Drop a task on the canvas; the circular menu around it includes the colour control immediately.
- Pick a colour from the palette — the task is painted at once.
- Choose Save ▾ → Save.
- After a reload the task keeps its colour.
- Selecting the no colour swatch returns the task to the neutral style, and the change survives a reload.
Events, gateways, and invalid connections¶
- Start event types are listed with their icons in green; end event types in red. Signal is not offered.
- Gateways list their types with icons.
- In the dock, send message uses a solid envelope and receive message a hollow one. Intermediate and end email events are distinguished by an @.
- Connecting an end event to a task is refused, with a message in the interface language (for example Invalid connection).
Export menu¶
| Option | Result |
|---|---|
| Process | Downloads the process as a .pmx file |
| Custom | Opens a dialog with object checkboxes to export a subset |
| Diagram (xml) | Downloads the BPMN diagram as XML |
The Report tables checkbox does not appear in the custom export.
Saving¶
- Save ▾ → Save writes your changes and shows a success banner under the top bar. Saving again with no changes reports that there is nothing to save.
- Autosave is turned on and off from the same menu; there are no autosave checkboxes in the bar.
- Save as creates a copy with the name you type, closes the dialog, opens the copy, and leaves the original in Processes.
Validator¶
The validator lists what is wrong with the diagram: unconnected elements, a missing end event, and so on. Drag its top edge to resize it, within a minimum and a maximum. With the validator open the figure dock moves above it instead of being covered. Saving an incomplete diagram does not corrupt it, and the errors disappear from the list as you fix them.
Theme¶
The canvas follows the workspace theme: light grey background with dots, typography matching the Admin panel, and the workspace primary colour for buttons and highlights. BPMN figures keep their neutral colours; they are never painted with the theme colour. Changing the primary colour in Themes and reloading updates the designer.
