Process Designer¶
The Process Designer is where you build a process. It opens when you create, import, or open a process from Processes, and it runs inside the Vue shell as an embedded designer.
Design tools¶
The designer top menu exposes the tools that define how a process behaves:
| Tool | Use it for |
|---|---|
| DynaForms | Build the forms used by case steps |
| Input documents | Define documents that a case must provide |
| Output documents | Define documents the process generates |
| Triggers | Run custom logic at process events |
| Database connections | Connect the process to external databases |
| Case scheduler | Schedule case actions for this process |
Canvas and context tools¶
These tools open from the canvas or from a process object, not from the top menu:
- Permissions and supervisors — control who can use the process.
- Web entry — let external users start a case from a start event.
Case Tables adds its own section to the Vue Designer sidebar: see Case Tables.
Work with a process¶
- Open the process from Processes.
- Select a tool.
- Make your changes.
- Save before you leave the designer.
The exact controls depend on the tool and on the type of process. Save often; unsaved changes may be lost if you close the designer.
Test before deploying
A process change can affect new and running cases. Test the change with a sample case before you use it in production.
