Tables¶
Designer → Case Tables → Tables lists the custom tables in your workspace. Use it to find a table, open its data or schema, and move it through its lifecycle.
Find a table¶
- Search by name.
- Filter by domain, status, or classification.
- Mark tables as favorites and filter by that list.
- Choose which columns are visible; the choice is kept for your user.
The list shows the domain, table name, physical name, status, classification, row count, and last change.
Status and available actions¶
A table's status decides what you can do with it. The full state machine is in Table states and sync; this is what each state allows:
| Status | Edit schema | View data | Export |
|---|---|---|---|
| Draft — designed, never published | Yes | No | No |
| Active — published and synced | Yes, which creates pending changes | Yes | Yes |
| Pending — has unpublished changes | No, publish or discard first | No | No |
| Active pending — changes bundled in a job | No | No | No |
| In plan — job assigned to a plan | No | No | No |
| Syncing — job running | No | No | No |
| Error — last sync failed | Retry only | No | No |
Export is deliberately closed for anything that is not Active: a draft, pending, or failed table would produce a file that cannot be imported back.
Table actions¶
| Action | Use it for |
|---|---|
| View data | Open the rows of an active table |
| Edit schema | Change the structure; see Table schema |
| Retry sync | Run a failed migration again |
| Pending sync / In plan | Open the job plan behind the current state |
| View ER diagram | See the table in its domain diagram |
| Delete | Remove the table (soft delete; it leaves the default list) |
Deletion is the one action available from any status. It removes the table from the list; a table that is mid-sync should be left to finish first.
Create a table¶
- Choose New table (or create one from inside a domain).
- Choose the domain — it is required, and it fixes the table's prefix.
- Define the structure.
- Save draft or Review & Publish.
Bulk operations¶
Selecting one or more tables opens the bulk toolbar:
| Action | Rule |
|---|---|
| Empty | Removes all rows; only Active tables qualify |
| Drop | Removes the tables; every selected table must have 0 rows |
| Export | Exports the selection; only non-draft tables qualify |
| Import | Imports a file into a domain |
Emptying and dropping ask for confirmation, and dropping requires typing the number of tables. Both run as a job plan: follow them in Jobs. Exporting and importing are described in Import and export.
